Do vegans kill flies, mosquitoes, spiders and other insects?

Fo vegans kill flies, mosquitos, spiders and insects?

Do vegans kill flies and other insects in everyday life? It's a very valid question. If you're asking it right now, you're absolutely right here. "Full-blooded vegans" want, as best as practical, to protect animals from exploitation by humans, as well as from animal suffering and cruelty to animals protect. But does that also apply to smaller animals, such as spiders, flies and mosquitoes? How do vegans deal with them?

In this article I would like to give you briefly and concisely everything you need to know about the vegan attitude towards insects. Let's go!

Basic attitude of vegans towards spiders, flies, mosquitoes and other insects.

As a vegan, I want to avoid any violence towards animals as much as possible. This is of course also the case with insects such as wasps, ladybugs, house flies and mosquitoes, as well as arthropods such as spiders or centipedes. Instead of swatting them to death with a fly swatter, I prefer to protect myself AND the animalI can do more than just myself - for example, by installing a fly screen on the window or sleeping under a mosquito net in warmer climates. If a spider or wasp gets lost in my house, I simply take it outside for a short time. And I avoid fruit flies by not leaving fruit and vegetables out in the open and taking the organic waste out regularly. What's the problem? ๐Ÿ™‚

"Any foolish boy can stamp on a beetle, but all the professors in the world cannot make a beetle."

Arthur Schopenhauer

For so some this may possibly appear quite silly. But one ascribes an emotional world and a will to live only to living beings, where one recognizes this directly -. the other sees a value in every life.

Good to know: Vegans also do not eat honey, because bees have to slave quite hard for it and are exploited for the production of the popular food. Just because the animals are small and inconspicuous, this is no reason to exploit them for one's own benefit. Do you see it similarly?

When do vegans kill flies, mosquitoes, spiders and insects in general?

When do vegans kill mosquitoes?

If bugs, flies and spiders simply wander around your own four walls, there is no danger. But there is if a mosquito or wasp sits on your skin. In such moments of Self defense probably also strike most vegans.

Just as among meat eaters, there are also among vegans such and such. Some people still carefully bring the little biting animals outside even after they have settled on their own arm.

Whether a vegan kills a mosquito or not, but usually plays no role at all. For it is usually precisely those people who ask the initial question discussed here who quite consciously accept that large, sentient mammals, such as cows or pigs, in the Factory farming have to suffer and die for their own meals.

The question then really only serves to, Catching vegans at their "inconsistency".They do not seem to live in complete harmony with their own values. Classic Whataboutism just. At the end it is to serve then for the justification of the own life and nourishing way. But the question merely confirms that the questioner is well aware that he himself could live in a more animal-friendly way.

Don't vegans indirectly kill many more insects when harvesting plants?

A little-thought-out argument that many meat eaters love to fall back on is that "Vegans kill many more animals". The background is that during the harvest of soy, corn and Co. also small fawns, frogs and not least countless insects die can.

That's true, and it's also hard to completely prevent. But to whom these animals are really important, who should all the more vegan life. This is because the very masses of animal feed needed for meat production must be grown and harvested. Also the Deforestation of the rainforests takes place mainly for new cultivation areas for animal feed. Those who do without animal products therefore drastically reduce the risk and the number of animals killed for their own diet.

How to kill as few insects as possible

Mosquito net to protect animals

Whether vegan or meat eater - whether fly, wasp, house angle spider, bumblebee, Colorado potato beetle, snark, butterfly or wild bee - in the end it is a good deed, let animals live. Here are some tips to help you kill as few insects as possible in the future:

  • Reduce your consumption of animal foods: Per less meat, eggs, milk and co., the fewer cows, pigs or chickens die directly and the fewer insects die indirectly in the production of animal feed for you.
  • Put spiders outside: Take a glass or a piece of paper and put spiders and other small animals outside. After all, they are just looking for a safe shelter against wet and cold.
  • Use mosquito repellent: You can make your own completely natural mosquito spray from at least 40 percent alcohol, water and essential oils. To make sure that biting insects leave you alone, fly screens and mosquito nets also do the trick.
  • Do not eat insects: If you want to protect insects, you should not eat them. Logical, right? Just avoid pasta, protein bars, or burger patties made from grasshoppers and mealworms - and eat their plant-based counterparts instead.

Do vegans kill flies, spiders, mosquitoes and other insects? Who cares!

Also spiders are rather not killed by vegans

There are vegans who kill mosquitoes and vegans who act completely according to their moral values even with small insects and in possibly dangerous situations. This is no different among meat eaters. But actually it does not matter at all. Leaving animals alone as long as they do not pose a threat to your life is always a good way to go. The global species extinctions is progressing fast enough. So let's do our bit to help solve this massive ecological problem as quickly as possible.

I hope I was able to answer your initial question with this post. Do you have any questions, tips or suggestions? Then I look forward to your comment.
