Winter is considered by many nature filmmakers to be the least attractive time of the year. Nature is seemingly asleep in many places and real nature experiences are rare. The many migratory birds travel to their southern wintering grounds, some animal species hibernate, and especially on gray winter days our landscapes seem almost lifeless. To make matters worse, snow has been missing for years. At least in the northern part of Germany.
On closer inspection, however, it becomes clear that even mild winters like the past one have particularly beautiful sides. Countless geese, siskins and whooper swans spend the winter with us, the goshawks begin to mate and the goldfinches raid the sunflower fields,
In addition, the sun plays into the cards for us filmmakers and photographers. The fact that the sun does not rise completely all day means that the conditions are perfect for any kind of shooting, even at midday. So it's not a big deal that the day is a bit shorter in the end.
My most beautiful shots from this winter I have you in this little film in the Wildlife Blog put together. Now I'm already looking forward to the most beautiful time of the year. Outside you can already feel how nature comes back to life. Spring will hopefully again this year hold many surprises. Until then, I wish you much fun with my nature experiences from this winter.
Many greetings,
